"Hey daddy, daddy, gimme the ball!"

"Score! I got the ball!"

"No you can't take it from me already!"

"Ha ha, I got the ball and you can't catch me!"

"I know it's in here somewhere..."

Doesn't it just make you want to go, "Aww...."?

Well, we took Loki to the beach for the first "real" time today. (Before, we took him to Carolina Beach, but it was 9:00 at night, and Jason and I were mainly staring at the stars).

As you can tell, he had lots of fun. He got away from us a few times, but people were kind enough to catch him. Obviously they can't make leashes longer than 30 ft., but it'd be really nice. I think the length is what allowed Loki to get away from us though. He pretty much got a running start to yank the leash away from us. Also because my genius husband thought it'd work to set the leash down on the sand and step on it.

I think the best part of the day was watching him point at some seagulls. I know he has the bird dog instinct in him, but I didn't know it applied towards seagulls too! I really wish I got a picture. He's pooped out now sleeping next to me, 2 hours early. Hopefully this energy drain lasts through the night so I don't have to wake up tonight staring at butt with his tail wagging.

Peanut Butter Piggy

Most of the time I think Vizslas are beautiful dogs. Then I see something like this:

Yeah...... Beautiful....

It's a miracle!

We let Loki out alone all morning yesterday while I went to school and my husband went to work. When my husband came home at noon yesterday to check in on him, NOTHING was destroyed and there were no accidents!

(Well, I'm not sure about that. I'm still searching for my mousepad and the remote control...)

The husband rewarded Loki by bringing him into work for the rest of the day. If you're wondering what job lets a man bring his dog to work... try USMC infantry where the majority of the guys sit around the barracks the whole day waiting for word on what to do.

I guess Loki's growing up a bit.

Only problem is that Jason's leaving for CAX on Monday for a month and I think Loki might regress during that time. We worked so hard establishing Jason as the Alpha of the house that Loki might just be a bit lost when he leaves. We'll see. It'll be a trial run for the actual deployment in April.

Edit: I found the mousepad and remote control both safe. The mousepad was safe in the cabinet where I must've sleepily put it at 5 in the morning before heading to school, and the remote control was stuffed in the couch. I'm still amazed.

Is it summer yet?

Despite the fact that it's been in the low 70s and nice and breezy lately, I guess Loki really is just tired of the cold weather and wants summer time so he decided to put on his Hawaiian shirt. After all, he was a May pup.

I'll have to explain to him that the Punxsutawney Phil the groundhog saw his shadow and says 6 more weeks of winter.

Please don't ask me what Loki's fascination with our laptops is. I really hope he doesn't know how to look up doggy porn, but I think he just likes the heat radiating from them.

Yes, the two nutjobs have been camped out in front of the TV all weekend. If I'm lucky, Loki will come up to me and sit behind/on top of me when the space heater is on.
