55 Pound Lapdog.

Why does he always look so comfortable?

Tire biter

This is Loki (REALLY close up. And what I wake up to every morning.).

This is Loki and his favorite toy, the tire biter.

This is Loki's favorite toy. Before and after. Yes, you are only seeing about 1/6 of the entire tire biter and the rope on the right side. If I didn't clean up the crumbs every day, my house would be swimming in them.

Loki does not deserve toys. He just destroys them within the month and makes us buy him more - no joke, he saw a new one in Petsmart, picked it up, and tried to walk off with it.

Silly animals...

Valentines Day is for humans! Daddy sent those to me, not you!

... I love my husband. Although it was a pretty bad idea to send flowers to a household with two insane animals. Not even two seconds after I brought the flowers inside, the cat managed to topple it, and the Loki was already trying to take bites of it.

I was looking through my camera today and found this old picture and video. What a little cutie. Too bad they can't always stay like that. Although now that I think about it, I really don't want to go through all that potty training/bitetraining again though... eh, maybe today's Loki is good enough.

What a little guy. Ignore Jason's hairy legs. They're not cute. At all.

No daddy for a month.

Well, Jason left this morning at 1 AM. Won't be back for a month. After that, he gets a month at home, then off to Iraq for 7 months.

He was in such a rush that he couldn't give a proper goodbye to Loki, and I only got a quick hug and kiss. I guess Loki sensed something was wrong after I let him in the bedroom to sleep that night with me because he laid his head on my shoulder as if saying, "It's okay mommy, I'll be here for you." I think I can spare you the details about lying awake crying after he left realizing how soon this next deployment was coming up. The last one I survive somewhat okay because I had a number of distractions. This second one is going to test me though.

Man. It's going to be a long month. It's times like these I'm glad I have Loki. It gives me a reason to get out of the house, if only for a short trip to Petsmart. I can increase the frequency and time of walks in order to make the day go faster, and I can plan special trips with him. I guess I'll also have a "shoulder"... or rather, a back to cry on.

Thanks Loki.

Stop taking pictures mommy, I'm sleepy.

FINE! I'll eat kitty because you won't listen!

... what? I wasn't serious...
